When I left camp this morning, I had a panoramic view of Mounts Rainier, Adams, and St. Helens. Then I said goodbye to them and moved on to views of Mount Hood, which I will see for the next while.
It had been pretty windy all night and continued this morning. On some exposed sections, I had to walk leaning half over to keep moving. The wind seemed to suddenly depart after lunch though.
The trail so far in Oregon is gorgeous compared to Washington. The path is wide and level dirt. Even walking across a boulder field, the rocks had been magically cleared and a flat path appeared. (Magic = trail maintenance volunteers.)
I did 20.9 miles, ending in the dark. I really need to start getting moving a little earlier in the mornings.
Love the first photo and the second photo. That trail sounds amazing! 🙂
