A neighbor gave a few of us a ride back to the trailhead this morning. Again, Etna is just the nicest town. The smell of smoke came back as soon as we got out of the truck at Etna Summit, but I did see pieces of blue sky several times today. I haven’t seen anything but haze in the past week.
The trail was pretty rocky for most of the day so I wasn’t moving as fast as I’d planned on. After dinner, I got a spurt of energy and moved more quickly, even up the steep parts. It was a beautiful evening, with the sun lighting up the haze before it was even setting.
I stopped on the ridge after 20.1 miles so I could set up camp before dark.
Love that last photo and of course the one of your face. 🙂
Beautiful sunset!
